“Is Susan lonely?” is a dance piece about the idea of a better self and the process of approaching this idea. The project emphasizes the destructive nature of an ideal self in relation to our relationship to the world. It explores whether being divided with ourselves can be the basis for loneliness.
Due to the renewed lockdown in Germany and the closure of all theaters, the stage project “Is Susan lonely?” has reoriented itself and underwent an exciting transformation. Jasmine Ellis Projects presents a cinematographic exploration of dance and music and opens a new perspective on isolation and our encounter with an ideal self. Instead of the performance planned for the HochX Theater Munich, a 60-minute film will be streamed on dringeblieben.de on December 12th and 13th at 8 pm, which you can now watch (in)pleasantly from home.
Following the online premiere on December 12, 2020, the mediation series “Schau mer mal” invites you to an artist*interview on Zoom. In an informal atmosphere, the artistic team will provide insights into the process of “Is Susan lonely? The talk will be held in German and English, participation is free of charge.
