As a self-employed person in the cultural sector, you ask yourself all these questions from time to time? Are you just about to get started in the cultural sector? Then now is the right time to get some clarity: Elke Flake takes you on an exciting journey through the jungle of self-employment.
Dr. Elke Flake helped to build up the Brunsviga Cultural and Communication Center in Braunschweig in the early 1980s and was managing director here in the area of administration and finances until 2019. Since 1991, she was also active as a regional advisor of the Landesverband Soziokultur Niedersachsen as a cultural advisor and had to deal with all areas of the independent cultural sector. Since the beginning of 2019 she is “only” active as a freelance consultant. She has an extensive practical knowledge of almost all topics that freelancers have to deal with in addition to their creative work. In doing so, she never loses touch with her own beginnings and personal connection.
